Yousuke Hanamura is one of the main characters from the Persona 4 anime and games.
A second-year student at Yasogami High School, Yousuke Hanamura moved to the town about six months before the events of the game. His father is the manager of local department store Junes, and as such he is usually treated as an unofficial complaints box, much to his chagrin. Yousuke serves as the best friend and partner of Yuu, although he's often the butt of his other friends' jokes.
In the XP4 fics, Yousuke debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries.
In the AWA fics, Yousuke is a student at the AWA Academy.
Appearance[]
Yousuke has slightly unkempt fawn colored dyed hair and brown eyes. At both his school and inside the Midnight Channel, he wears his Yasogami High school uniform, along with a white V-neck T-shirt with long sleeves and a pair of red headphones (save for two occasions, he is never seen without them). Inside the Midnight Channel, Yousuke also wears orange glasses.
Personality[]
Yousuke is a clumsy transfer-student who arrived six months before the protagonist. He is often the target for jokes about his lack of muscles and body strength, and fights with blunt, double-handed objects such as wrenches, but moreso knives and kunai. The protagonist first sees him crashing his bike into a garbage can, the first of many times, but he doesn't introduce himself to the protagonist until he helps Yousuke by getting him out of a garbage can. Yousuke doesn't usually think before he says something, which results in him sticking his foot in his mouth, and unintentionally insulting someone, including Kanji Tatsumi about his sexual orientation. He tends to be a bit of a wannabe ladies' man and has a fascination for girls, forcing the girls to enter a beauty pageant they can't back out of. But beneath most of that (more so in the original game), he shows great insight with decent deducing, and is often on task of the situation on hand, and can be very serious at times. Along with that, he is described by the other members of the Investigation Team as too nice, even from his own words.

Yousuke is a Solo Hero at the Heroes Coalitions and is a member of the Inaba Investigation Team. He also attends at Vanguard Academy as a student.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]
In Chapter 13, Yousuke, alongside the rest of the Inaba Investigation Group, were supposed to have a nice weekend when Dan Gotanda made his presence. After Dan explained to them about the Heroes Coalitions, they all decided to join with his reason is to get away from overworking at his family's local department store. Later, the team arrives at the Neo-City and were awed at the sight of the Training Facility. Later Dan left to sort out a problem, they then met Precious Dazzle and befriended him. After Dan returned and told them that they'll be meeting the president of the Heroes Coalitions which they obliged.
In Chapter 16, Yousuke, alongside a few, are seen eating pizza in the mini kitchen at the Training Camp when Chris Pearson and Fabia Sheen joined them. Later, Elise Pearson arrives in the kitchen, he and the others decided to leave the mini kitchen, so Chris and Elise can have a private conversation. After that, Yousuke and the others came back to the kitchen where Elise announced that she's joining the Heroes Coalitions, he watches the others stop Elise from killing Dan Mandel after the latter made an insulting comment to the former.
In Chapter 24, Yousuke, alongside Denki Kaminari, Kyouka Jirou, Rock Lee and Cana Alberona, are seen having a conversation in front of a row lockers inside the Vanguard Academy.
In Chapter 31, Yousuke is present inside the auditorium of the Training Camp where he witnessed the formation of the New Age Avengers.
In Chapter 38, Yousuke is seen inside the hallways of the Vanguard Academy and found himself getting attacked by Tae Yamada which forces him to surrender his frankfurter, and fortunately for him, Saki Nikaidou and Sakura Minamoto arrives to help him. Later that day, he once again found himself getting attacked by Tae which forces him to surrender his hamburger, and he didn't noticed that red tints on Tae's cheeks.
In Chapter 47, Yousuke, alongside Yuu Narukami, are seen skateboarding around the courtyard of the Vanguard Academy.
In Chapter 56, Yousuke came out running in panic at the front entrance door of the Vanguard Academy with Tae Yamada biting his head while Ai Mizuno, Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Sakura Minamoto chases after them.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Mission Chronicles[]
In Chapter 13, Yousuke, alongside Dan Gotanda, are seen in England doing a recruitment task when they came across Alexander "Xander" Campbell II in a road and after meeting up with Alexander Campbell I, Angela Balashov Campbell, and Claudia Campbell at the Campbell Mansion, they managed to convinced Xander to join the Heroes Coalitions.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Welcome to Herowood[]
In Chapter 3, Yousuke is seen inside the RoosterTeeth Hotel in Herowood and found himself getting attacked by Tae Yamada over a sandwich, Mata Frerichs and Teddie arrives but didn't help but the arrival of the members of Franchouchou managed to get Tae off him and decided to hand her the sandwhich, and despite his annoyance, Yousuke decided not make a big deal out of it.
In Chapter 8, Yousuke, alongside a number of people, are seen inside the dining area of their hotel in Herowood while eating a sandwhich when Tae Yamada came up to him, Yousuke then begrudgingly handed his sandwich to Tae to which she devoured, much to his disgust.

History[]
In Chapter 24, Yousuke, alongside Erza Scarlet, Gajeel Redfox, Happy, Jinbe, Kevin the Jock, Naoto Shirogane, Naruto Uzumaki, Natsu Dragneel, Reisen Udongein Inaba and Youji Itami, are seen hidden on top of a very tall tree in the desert area somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban. After concluding their conversations, everyone decided to move out when they came across a group of speedo-wearing unicorn warriors. After defeating the creatures, he told everyone that Edd the Sockheard is about to do something.
In Chapter 25, Yousuke is mentioned to have returned to the bus in the deep and narrow valley between two canyons in a desert that is located somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban after witnessing Edd the Sockhead's gigantic holographic projection of himself.
Abilities[]
He is a cheerful trickster with speedy, unpredictable moves. His Persona is Jiraiya, master of the wind. He uses knives and kunais as weapons.

- In the XP4 fics, Yousuke along with Yuu Narukami, Teddie, Kanji Tatsumi and Rex Salazar are known as Neo-City's One Direction after singing and dancing in the streets one time.
