Yoshika Miyafuji is the main protagonist of the Strike Witches anime and light novels.
Yoshika comes from a family of magical doctors on the island nation of Fuso. Her father was responsible for the creation of the Striker Unit, magically powered engines that amplify magic, to counter the Neuroi. However, her father was killed in the war tainting Yoshika's perception of it. She was initially reluctant when Mio came to recruit her, but after helping to defend the Fuso fleet from a Neuroi attack, she agreed to join the 501st Strike Witches.
In the AWA fics, Yoshika is a student at the AWA Academy and is part of Class 1.
In the XP4 fics, Yoshika debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries.
Background[]
A typical young girl who comes from a family of clinicians who use their magic powers to heal people. Yoshika gains the features of a mame-shiba when using said power. Her father designed the Striker Units the Strike Witches use to fight. However, because her father died in the war she is vehemently against fighting when Mio Sakamoto appears to recruit her but did joined in the end.
Appearance[]
She is a young girl with short brown hair and eyes. She wears a white sailor uniform, blue swimsuit, blue skirt and brown shoes. She sometimes walks around without any pants.
Personality[]
Her personality is pure, straightforward, earnest and always energetic, but also surprisingly stubborn. With a strong sense of duty and thoughtful of her friends, she works vigorously towards her aims without giving up and always facing forward, possessing a brashness of spirit strong in crucial moments. Due a nature that does not get timid or fearful of strangers, Yoshika has friendly relations with everyone in the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, without exceptions, in spite of being the last member to join in. Particularly, she displays an excellent combination with her close friend Flight Sergeant Bishop and with Flying Officer Clostermann, who she had many opportunities to work together with.
She has a physiological revulsion towards wars and guns that injure people, and losing the father that she loved only encouraged her hatred against war. However, that dislike is based not on knowledge but on emotions and, in the bottom of her heart, she thinks that fighting for the sake of the promise she made with her father ("That power, for the sake of protecting many") is unavoidable.
After her enlistment in the 501st JFW, Yoshika developed a flat-chested complex. She does not actively make a move, but does brings her face and hands near towards the breasts of others with quite natural movements or sends an intense gaze to their chest areas. Whenever doing joint training or collapsing after a mission with Flight Sergeant Bishop, she always brings her face or hands near the other's breasts. In occasions like during the aquatic training, bathing and Flight Lieutenant Barkhorn started up the Jet Striker, she naturally gazed intently at someone's chest area. A smile of pure bliss surfaced when she got a hold of Flight Lieutenant Yeager's breasts, burying her face on them when she collapsed after a collision. Also, her eyes unconsciously sparkled when Flight Lieutenant Yeager and Flight Lieutenant Marseille disputed over the size of their breasts. Due not watching where she was going, she ended up grabbing Squadron Leader Sakamoto's breasts in a straightforward manner. Later, upon meeting Sakamoto in the bath, she ended up suffering from dizziness caused by a prolonged hot bath after thinking too much about the same's breasts.
Maybe because she has no immunity to celebrities as someone comparatively more inexperienced than others, Yoshika has a tendency to desire autographs in a lowbrow-manner. During a re-supply stop at Los Angeles, she took a picture and got an autograph from Elizabeth Taylor, a well-known child actress at the time who would later become a great actress, without really knowing who she was - for no better reason than the fact that people formed a crowd. She also desired an autograph from Flight Lieutenant Marseille upon learning that she was a world-famous Witch, despite not knowing anything about her until she visited their base.
A small glutton, Yoshika is well versed in housework - especially cooking. Though only capable of preparing Fuso cuisine, she has a fixation with nattou to the point of making it herself. She actually dislikes Britannian cuisine.

In Chapter 1, Yoshika, alongside Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen inside the Science and Research Department in the Training Camp where Major Richard Stronghold, Dr. Michael Pating and Dr. Caesar Apoy briefed them about their mission in Yoshika's world and afterwards, the trio of heroes left for their mission.
In Chapter 2, Yoshika, alongside Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, met up with Mio Sakamoto at a ruins of an old laboratory, much to Mio's shock and relief. Later in the main office of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing's main base, they met up with Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke and had a conversation about the Heroes Coalitions aiding the witches in their battles against the Neurois.
In Chapter 3, Yoshika happily reunited with her fellow witches from the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and later had a conversation with them alongside Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith. Suddenly, everyone heard an alarm which signals a Neuroi attack, they quickly sprung into action.
In Chapter 4, Yoshika, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, took part of taking on a Neuroi and they managed to destroy it, they then later witnessed Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith taking down another Neuroi, much to their awe.
In Chapter 5, Yoshika, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen having a conversation inside the dining area of the main base when Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke entered the room and told them that a ship filled with wounded crew members arrived at the docks. Upon hearing this, Yoshika made her way to the docks and tried to heal every wounded crew members but she succumbs to fatigue. She then noticed Malvina Rasputin's arrival and later witnessed Malvina using her Gift to heal every wounded crew members in a vast scale, she then discovered that Malvina is a Blessed.
In Chapter 6, Yoshika, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen at the docks of the main base of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing where Malvina Rasputin shared to them about her past. After Double D offered Malvina membership for the Heroes Coalitions to which she accepted, Alla Yuliya made her presence and tried to take her back home but Malvina refused due to her desires to become a better to which Alla cried in tears of joy and decided to follow her mistress. They were later shock when Alla presented to Malvina the latter's gigantous share of wealth.
In Chapter 7, Yoshika took part in fighting off the Emotionless in a nearby town when the aforementioned creatures made their attack on the area and later then witnessed the arrival of the remaining members of the New Age Avengers.
In Chapter 8, Yoshika, alongside everyone, witnessed the arrival of the Emotionless-Neuroi and after recovering from the shock, she, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, met up with Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in the hangar and after getting themselves into their Strikers, they flew towards the ginormous enemy and witnessed Perrine H. Clostermann going off plan and found herself getting swatted by the Emotionless-Dragon whom landed safely on a boat. After disposing the arms of the Emotionless-Neuroi, they witnessed Marcus "The Kane" McGee destroying it with his Gasoline Drill Gazer, much to their awe.
In Chapter 9, Yoshika, alongside everyone, witnessed Malvin Rasputin rejecting Eddy Skipper McGee with the latter falling into the water upon running off. She is present when Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mio Sakamoto and Perrine H. Clostermann made their presence and announced the successful alliance between the Heroes Coalitions & the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, and later witnessed Marcus "The Kane" McGee saving Eddy from drowning.

In Chapter 1, Yoshika, alongside Duncan Nelson, Eddy Skipper McGee, Edwin "Ed" Horace Williams, Ichigo Kurosaki and Indigo Zap, arrives in the hallways of the Canterlot High School where Flash Sentry met up with them, and later witnessed Eddy getting tasered by Mystery Mint after he flirted with her, and then everyone went on their ways.
In Chapter 3, Yoshika regrouped with the others in the frontyard of the Canterlot High School and decided to call it a day by visiting the Sugarcube Corner.
In Chapter 4, Yoshika, alongside Edwin "Ed" Horace Williams, arrives in the gymnasium of the Canterlot High School where they met and befriended Fuchsia Blush, Lavender Lace and Trixie Lulamoon when a hooded figure made its presence and took Trixie away while proceeding to chase after them.
In Chapter 5, Yoshika took part in searching for Trixie Lulamoon and later found her in the courtyard of the Canterlot High School where the stage magician is under the influenced of the black gem, and took part in a battle against her and the Emotionless. After Trixie was saved, she witnessed the reveal that the hooded figures are none other than Green Lantern and Skyroar Rampage.
In Chapter 6, Yoshika is present in the courtyard of the Canterlot High School where Green Lantern and Skyroar Rampage revealed their plans on reviving Lady Adele using negative emotions. After some skirmish, Green and Skyroar fled, leaving everyone in disbelief and confused.

In Chapter 1, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are seen inside the briefing room of the Training Camp where Dr. Caesar Apoy, Dr. Michael Pating, Louie Lovenhope and Major Richard Stronghold informed them of their latest mission of rescuing Gingka Hagane in the Junkyard Planet alongside being introduced to Xyrielle "XY Girl" Yona as the newest member of their team. Later, upon arriving in the Junkyard Planet, everyone realized that they're stranded, so they proceed to search for shelter.
In Chapter 2, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are seen searching for a shelter in the Junkyard Planet when they came across a starship and dubbed it the 'Central Command'. Afterwards, everyone decided to mess around when they came across Tsunayoshi Sawada getting chased by an army of robots and decided to help him, and after disposing of their enemies, everyone introduced themselves to each other before heading back to the Central Command.
In Chapter 3, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Tsunayoshi Sawada, made their presence before Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Indigo Zap, Juniper Lee and Little Joey somewhere in the Junkyard Planet and started tossing trash at them but after clearing some misunderstanding, everyone are gathered inside the Central Command and after Ben fixed the starship, they made their leave and began to travel through the air.
In Chapter 4, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Indigo Zap, Juniper Lee, Little Joey and Tsunayoshi Sawada, are traversing the skies of the Junkyard Planet while inside the Central Command. Everyone then drops down to the ground and fought an army of robots, and after defeating their enemies, they finally found Gingka Hagane, Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob SquarePants. Afterwards, everyone got back inside the Central Command and continued their journey.

In Chapter 1, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Gingka Hagane, are seen in the beach somewhere in the Izu Ooshima Island where Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Himawari Shinomiya, Kenjirou Isshiki, Mizuha Amagi, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa met up with them.
In Chapter 2, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Gingka Hagane, Himawari Shinomiya, Kenjirou Isshiki, Mizuha Amagi, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa, are seen gathered inside the NDF Headquarters where they had a conversation with Yuuri Shijou about the current situation and later witnessed Mizuha rejecting Eddy Skipper McGee. Later that night in the Isshiki residence, everyone are joined by Mashiro Isshiki and Momo Isshiki for dinner and had a rather wacky conversation.
In Chapter 3, Yoshika, alongside Momo Isshiki and Xyrielle Yona, are seen entering the kitchen of the Isshiki Residence and later had a conversation. Later on, she, alongside everyone, are present in another beach while getting ready for their battle against the Alones and the Emotionless.
In Chapter 5, Yoshika took part in fighting the Alone and Karasu in the skies of Izu Ooshima Island, and they managed to destroy the Alone and sent Karasu packing. Later that night, she took part in a celebration party in the Isshiki Residence for their victory over Karasu and other stuffs.
In the Epilogue, Yoshika, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Gingka Hagane, Himawari Shinomiya, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa, arrives in the Training Camp in Neo-City. She, alongside Aoi, Duncan Nelson, Taro Yamada and Wakaba, are seen in the courtyard where they came across with Kafuu Kalawaiʻa and Luna Loud.
Abilities[]
Yoshika's inherent magic is Healing Abilities. Classified as a variety of the telekinesis-lineage, it puts a living thing back to how it was by means of magic and is effective not only against external wounds but also diseases. At first, she became fatigued upon treating a single person, so consecutive use was difficult. However, she underwent a huge growth through practice and actual combat, to the point of being capable of fighting without problems even after continuously applying treatment to over 10 people.
Another ability of note is a multi-shield that raises the power of the magic shield, the generation of a gigantic shield and the capacity to use them properly for offense and defense. Her latent magic power and growth width are by far the greatest. Also, by granting her own magic power, Yoshika can increase the magic power of a targeted Witch, drastically strengthening both her inherent magic and physical abilities.
She also has confidence in her health and boasts never having catch a cold before.
Yoshika's Type 99 cannon has been remodeled from its original 20mm×101RB specifications - first into a 13.2mm×99 and later into a 12.7mm×99, the latter which is an easy-to-acquire ammunition used by the European Dispatch Corps. Some works also display her using a Schnellfeur M712 as a sidearm, which is commonly known as "Mauser Military" or "Broomhandle". She was also issued a Walther PPK upon joining the 501st, however she immediately returned it, stating a dislike for firearms.

Yoshika began to learn how to keep numerous weapons through hammerspace.
Later on, Yoshika learns how to use Ubercharged by having her heart replaced by a high-voltage Mega-Baboon heart. She would swallow a red capsule to activate this ability which later turns her entire body into a shiny dark-red armor that protects her from any enemy projectiles, in Heavy's words, she's bulletproof.
