Skullomania, real name Saburo Nishikoyama, is a character from the Street Fighter games.

Skullomania is the superhero identity of a third-rate salaryman from Tokyo named Saburo Nishikoyama, who works to support his wife and children. After dressing up as a superhero for a department store attraction, Nishikoyama decided to become a superhero for real, choosing to fight crime as a hobby during the weekends.

In the XP4 fics, Skullomania is currently a member of the Heroes Coalition and is part of the Triumph Division. He also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.

In the AWA fics, Skullomania is listed as a purchased slave from the Slave Fortress and is later rescued.

Skullomania is a man wearing a costume that simply consists of a black bodysuit stocking with a skeleton motif printed on it, white gloves, white boots and a red scarf wrapped around his neck.

Skullomania was once an average salesman called Saburo Nishikoyama. His superiors were not pleased with his results as a salesman. Down on his luck and constantly under pressure for results, he was forced to act in a hero show held for the customers at the department store he worked at. During the performance, he felt an indescribable passion awaken within him, and decided to become a vigilante crime-fighter, swearing to protect the world from evil. As a result, he began to compete against the top-ranked martial artists in the world, fighting them on an even playing field.

Skullomania has an acrobatic fighting style, possibly inspired by Freestyle Dance as one of his Super Combo shows him creating body blows from his slide kick and ends with a break dance manuever.

  • Despite only being in a couple of Street Fighter games, Skullomania constantly ranks high in official character polls. In Capcom's official poll for Street Fighter IV asking fans which characters they wanted added, he came in SECOND place behind Cammy. And in their latest Street Fighter Popularity Poll, Skullomania finished in the top 20, ahead of mainstays like Guile, Zangief, Karin, Rose, and Vega.
  • In Fighter Maker and then SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, the latter includes a Gender Bender.
  • Saburo translates to "third son." Skullomania is a third-rate businessman.
  • There's an S on his forehead (and beginning with EX2, on his belt). Both the forehead S and the belt are gone in Fighting EX Layer.
