Rex Salazar

Rex Salazar is the main protagonist from the Generator Rex series.

Rex is a charming teenager with a sharp sense of humor and a thirst for adventure (at least, if you ask him). He is living the dream as the point man of a high-powered super-spy team and is amazed by the weird world he's a part of, and most definitely digs the spotlight as Providence's weapon of choice. It's like being a super-powered rock star, most of the time. Like any teen, there's a lot going on with Rex that keeps him awake at night – mainly the amnesia that's robbed him of his past. He can't remember anything beyond the few months before joining Providence because they promised to help him learn where he comes from. He is driven toward any clues that might help unlock his memories or better understand and master the strange but wonderful machines banging around inside of him.

In the AWA fics, Rex is a student at the AWA Academy and is a part of Class 23.

In the XP4 fics, Rex debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries.

In the TWA fics, Rex is one of the major characters. Rex is part of the Honor Fighting Force and is a member of The Ragtag of Heroes.

Background[]

Prior to the Nanite Event, he was one of the initial recipients of a controlled batch of nanites. Unlike a majority of EVOs, Rex has control over his nanites and is the only known being capable of curing other EVOs. Since childhood, Rex was employed as a secret weapon for Providence, a global organization dedicated to protecting the world from rampaging EVOs.

Unintentionally, Rex disappeared six months into the future and returned to a Providence with a new regime he disapproved of. He willingly left Providence for the time being to join a defect group and rebel against the corrupted organization. While he defeated the Consortium, Rex cured the entire world of nanites. However, Rex reserved his abilities and continued to fight for Providence.

Appearance[]

Rex has a brown complexion, black hair that is brushed backwards and brown eyes. He wears a red & orange jacket, blue & white t-shirt, dark blue pants and boots. He also wears a bright orange goggles on his head.

Personality[]

Like most teenagers who grow up secluded and isolated, Rex is overconfident, impulsive, and rebellious. He is quite headstrong, which according to Van Kleiss, he inherited from his mother, Violeta. He has a quick wit and is constantly making jokes, even in the direst of situations, often falling into sarcasm. However, when Rex needs to defend himself, he does not hold back. Aggressive and reckless, Rex prefers to smash anything that gets in his way, much to Providence's annoyance. However, he eventually begins to show more discretion and consideration. Rex has also shown a selfless side to his personality, as he takes pride in curing many EVOs at his own risk. He has also shown an empathetic side to his personality, for instance, he understands that many of the EVOs he encounters were previously conscious people who still have loved ones concerned about them, and never resorts to execution no matter the species. Another example would be when Rex was the only one to see things from both Agent Six's and Serge's opposing point of views when discussing Aquania.

Like any teen, Rex also faces tough and conflicting feelings about his situations, like his position at Providence. While he is loyal to the organization, sometimes the pressure of being the only person that can cure EVOs becomes too much for him to handle. Consequently, he sometimes breaks out of the base to go on "road trips", as he calls them, to blow off steam. However, he always returns, perhaps out of a sense of duty, purpose, and caring for his team. He also tends to be sympathetic towards others in similar situations, namingly Circe and Breach. For instance, although Circe was than willingly joined the Pack, he understood her confusion and its relation of being an EVO and her hesitance behind joining Providence. When Breach was torn on her treatment by Van Kleiss and the Pack, Rex reached out to her to lend a helping hand, remedying her with the same tactics he used on himself. Ultimately, he never gave up on them.

Rex has also been shown to be clever. For example, Tuck stated that Rex improvised the voice activated nano-ink tattoos that Rex, Tuck, Skwydd, and Cricket have, after a problem they had with an EVO that could shape-shift. Coming from a family of scientists, Rex is quite intelligent, as shown when he was able to take high school courses with ease. After taking a trigonometry pop quiz, Rex casually told Noah that it was "just trig" and explained that it was like aiming his cannon. Another trait that goes hand in hand with Rex's cleverness and wit is Rex's ability to manipulate his enemies. At one point Rex willingly tricked Van Kleiss by fighting No Face, knowing that Van Kleiss needed him alive, while No Face wanted him dead. However, do the circumstances, Rex pretended to lie unconscious while Van Kleiss and No Face fought each other for Rex's life. He also used Biowulf's insecurities and fear of being replaced by No Face to persuade Biowulf's assistance in the long run.

Rex is a member of the Heroes Coalitions and is the part of the Bullet Kingdom(formerly known as New Age Avengers). He also attends Vanguard Academy as a student.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]

In Chapter 6, Rex, alongside Danny Fenton, Jake Long and Randy Cunningham, are new to the Training Camp with Anna Maymorie showing them around. They then came across Regan Bladeworks and introduced themselves before moving on with the tour.

In Chapter 12, Rex, alongside Randy Cunningham, Nicco Bondarev and Tucker Noble, is seen running across the Training Camp while pulling a tire with a rope wrapped around their waists.

In Chapter 17, Rex is inside his room in the dorms when Marcus "The Kane" McGee and Eddy Skipper McGee arrived and are revealed to be his roommates. Rex quickly became good friends with them though he snickered at Eddy's middle name, much to the short boy's annoyance.

In Chapter 19, Rex, alongside the others, are joined by Eddy Skipper McGee, Marcus "The Kane" McGee, Eddward Marion "Double D, Edd" Smith, Edwin Horace "Ed" Williams and Rolf Yrmi in the day's training. During a training session with the Heavy, Rex witnessed Double D accidentally tossing a heavy disk backwards and hitting Eddy on the head, knocking his friend out silly. During a training session with Major Richard Stronghold at a heavy traffic, Rex finished crossing the busy street and witnessed Double D getting hit by a vehicle twice. During a training session with the Scout, Rex successfully done a zipline routine. Later that night and after a whole day of training, Rex took part of the little get-together at the training facility's cafeteria.

In Chapter 21, Rex is present during Marcus "The Kane" McGee and Darren Cross' par at the training area in the Training Camp.

In Chapter 28, Rex is seen inside the Training Facility of Neo-City and later took part of a rope climbing exercise which ended in chaos.

In Chapter 31, Rex is present inside the auditorium of the Training Camp where he is announced to be a member of the New Age Avengers.

In Chapter 34, Rex took part in the rope skipping competition at the Vanguard Academy.

In Chapter 40, Rex, alongside Danny Fenton, Jake Long and Randy Cunningham, are mentioned to have gone exploring an abandoned asylum by Duncan Nelson.

In Chapter 44, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, welcomes Duncan Nelson and Taro Yamada for becoming an official member of the team. They also learned from Mario Martinez about the departure of Eddward Marion "Double D, Edd" Smith from the team alongside the reveal of an upcoming new member.

In Chapter 46, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are mentioned as a whole throughout the last part of the narrative.

In Chapter 47, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are mentioned as a whole during a conversation by Andres "Singko" Alvarez, Daisuke Niwa, Ikkaku Madarame and Yugi Mutou.

In Chapter 50, Rex is seen hanging around in the training area of the Training Camp when he witnessed Raya Amanda and Sylvia van Hossen challenging Eddy Skipper McGee and Marcus "The Kane" McGee for another game of H.A.V.O.C. Marathon which the boys accepted.

In Chapter 58, Rex is mentioned in the early narrative. Later that night, he is present inside the AniManga Cafe where he witnessed the performance of Flash Sentry, Marshmello and Pinkie Pie.

In Chapter 60, Rex is seen inside the cafeteria of the Vanguard Academy where he witnessed Adagio Dazzle making amends with Aria Blaze and the Rainbooms alongside Eddy Skipper McGee getting rejected by Adagio.

In Chapter 63, Rex took part in pranking Hector Vanguard Jr. for a whole day inside the Vanguard Academy.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Mission Chronicles[]

In Chapter 5, Rex, alongside everyone, arrives in the training area of the Training Camp in Neo-City only to find it empty when The Spy arrives and told them that there are no training for the day and advised them to take a time off. Later that day, the gang had a good time around Neo-City before hanging out at the park when they noticed the sky darkening.

In Chapter 6, Rex, alongside everyone, are still in the middle of their relaxation when the Emotionless attacked Neo-City forcing them to sprung into action and were later aided by the Training Camp's coaches and trainers.

In Chapter 7, Rex took part of fighting the Emotionless at Neo-City and later witnessed the arrival of an Emotionless-Dragon. He, alongside his fellow trainees, decided to take on the Emotionless-Dragon with Marcus "The Kane" McGee destroying it, much to their awe. He is later present at the park, taking a breather after a day of fighting, when Major Richard Stronghold arrives and complimented their heroic contributions.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Strike Witches[]

In Chapter 1, Rex, alongside Yoshika Miyafuji and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen inside the Science and Research Department in the Training Camp where Major Richard Stronghold, Dr. Michael Pating and Dr. Caesar Apoy briefed them about their mission in Yoshika's world and afterwards, the trio of heroes left for their mission.

In Chapter 2, Rex, alongside Yoshika Miyafuji and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, met up with Mio Sakamoto at a ruins of an old laboratory, much to Mio's shock and relief. Later in the main office of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing's main base, they met up with Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke and had a conversation about the Heroes Coalitions aiding the witches in their battles against the Neurois.

In Chapter 3, Rex, alongside Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, watches Yoshika Miyafuji happily reunited with her fellow witches from the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and later had a conversation afterwards. Suddenly, everyone heard an alarm which signals a Neuroi attack, they quickly sprung into action.

In Chapter 4, Rex, alongside Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, took part of taking on a Neuroi and they managed to destroy it, much to the witches from 501st Joint Fighter Wing's awe.

In Chapter 5, Rex, alongside the witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen having a conversation inside the dining area of the main base when Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke entered the room and told them that a ship filled with wounded crew members arrived at the docks. Upon arriving at the docks, he is greeted by the sight of a large number of wounded crew members, much to his horror. He then noticed Malvina Rasputin's arrival and later witnessed Malvina using her Gift to heal every wounded crew members in a vast scale, he then discovered that Malvina is a Blessed.

In Chapter 6, Rex, alongside the witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen at the docks of the main base of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing where Malvina Rasputin shared to them about her past. After Double D offered Malvina membership for the Heroes Coalitions to which she accepted, Alla Yuliya made her presence and tried to take her back home but Malvina refused due to her desires to become a better to which Alla cried in tears of joy and decided to follow her mistress. They were later shock when Alla presented to Malvina the latter's gigantous share of wealth.

In Chapter 7, Rex took part in fighting off the Emotionless in a nearby town when the aforementioned creatures made their attack on the area and later then witnessed the arrival of the remaining members of the New Age Avengers.

In Chapter 8, Rex, alongside everyone, witnessed the arrival of the Emotionless-Neuroi and after recovering from the shock, he, alongside Alla Yuliya, Marcus "The Kane" McGee and Rex Salazar met up with Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith at the docks, he then assisted in launching Marcus into the air.

In Chapter 9, Rex, alongside everyone, witnessed Malvin Rasputin rejecting Eddy Skipper McGee with the latter falling into the water upon running off. He is present when Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mio Sakamoto and Perrine H. Clostermann made their presence and announced the successful alliance between the Heroes Coalitions & the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, and later witnessed Marcus "The Kane" McGee saving Eddy from drowning.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Welcome to Herowood[]

On Chapter 4, Rex, alongside Alain Regulus, Ben Tennyson, Ichiro Ogami and Tatsumi, are seen inside an arcade of The Multiverse's Crossroads in Herowood where they witnessed Bartlomiej Agbayani smashing a crane machine and giving the prizes to Hanayo Koizumi, Maki Nishikino and Rin Hoshizora.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Infinite Stratos[]

In Chapter 1, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Ichika Orimura, are seen inside a briefing room somewhere in the Training Camp where they had a discussion about their latest mission. Later, everyone arrives in Ichika's world when they noticed the trouble going on in the IS Academy and they immediately springs into action.

In Chapter 2, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, arrives in the arena grounds of the IS Academy to aid Cecilia Alcott, Houki Shinonono, Laura Bodewing and Lingyin Huang in fighting the IS Golems.

In Chapter 3, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and the IS Students, are still fighting the IS Golems in the arena grounds of the IS Academy when the White Marauder(Ichika Orimura) made his presence to aid them, and after defeating their foes, everyone are seen gathered at one section when Chifuyu Orimura and Maya Yamada made their presence. Later, he is present in the communications room where everyone are having a discussion about the current situation. Later that night, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Ichika, are seen inside a room somewhere in the dorms.

In Chapter 4, Rex is present in the cafeteria of the IS Academy where the members of the New Age Avengers and the IS Students are getting along well. Later, alongside everyone, Rex arrives in the communications area and came across Chifuyu Orimura, Maya Yamada, Major Richard Stronghold and Tabane Shinonono having a conversation, and later realized that Tabane left and took Edwin Ed" Horace Williams with her.

In Chapter 5, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and the IS Students, are seen in the cargo bay of the IS Academy and took part in a group photo by Kaoruko Mayuzumi, and later witnessed the arrivals of Dr. Michael Pating and Ichigo Kurosaki. He then heard Jake Long screaming but shrugs it off.

In Chapter 6, Rex, alongside Ichika Orimura, are seen in the hallways of the IS Academy when Jake Long and Shizune Takatsuki met up with them, Jake then asked Ichika to allow Shizune to join his team to which he accepted. Later, they met up with Belle Lavitz, Honne Nohotoke, Kanzashi Sarashiki and Sayuri Momoka in the maintenance area, and everyone agreed to have Shizune be part of Ichika's team.

In Chapter 7, Rex, alongside Jake Long, are seen inside the cargo bay of the IS Academy where they greeted Ichika Orimura, Kanzashi Sarashiki and Shizune Takatsuki with encouragement while Belle Lavitz, Honne Nohotoke, Kaoruko Mayuzumi and Sayuri Momoka are working on Team Ichika's units. Later, he learned that Team Ichika's opponents are Cecilia Alcott, Houki Shinonono and Lingyin Huang.

In Chapter 8, Rex, alongside Jake Long, are seen inside the cargo bay of the IS Academy where they witness the battle between Ichika Orimura, Kanzashi Sarashiki & Shizune Takatsuki and Cecilia Alcott, Houki Shinonono & Lingyin Huang in the arena.

In Chapter 9, Rex took part in facing the IS Golems and the Emotionless in the arena of the IS Academy.

In Chapter 10, Rex took part in defeating Autumn, the Emotionless and the IS Droids in the arena of the IS Academy, and later witnessed Autumn disappearing into a portal, much to their shock and confusion.

In Chapter 11, Rex took part in a party somewhere in the IS Academy where it was announced that the Heroes Coalitions & the IS Academy had form an alliance, much to everyone's joy and delight.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Haunting Grounds[]

In Chapter 1, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are seen inside the briefing room of the Training Camp where Dr. Caesar Apoy, Dr. Michael Pating, Louie Lovenhope and Major Richard Stronghold informed them of their latest mission of rescuing Gingka Hagane in the Junkyard Planet alongside being introduced to Xyrielle "XY Girl" Yona as the newest member of their team. Later, upon arriving in the Junkyard Planet, everyone realized that they're stranded, so they proceed to search for shelter.

In Chapter 2, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, are seen searching for a shelter in the Junkyard Planet when they came across a starship and dubbed it the 'Central Command'. Afterwards, everyone decided to mess around when they came across Tsunayoshi Sawada getting chased by an army of robots and decided to help him, and after disposing of their enemies, everyone introduced themselves to each other before heading back to the Central Command.

In Chapter 3, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Tsunayoshi Sawada, made their presence before Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Indigo Zap, Juniper Lee and Little Joey somewhere in the Junkyard Planet and started tossing trash at them but after clearing some misunderstanding, everyone are gathered inside the Central Command and after Ben fixed the starship, they made their leave and began to travel through the air.

In Chapter 4, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Indigo Zap, Juniper Lee, Little Joey and Tsunayoshi Sawada, are traversing the skies of the Junkyard Planet while inside the Central Command. Everyone then drops down to the ground and fought an army of robots, and after defeating their enemies, they finally found Gingka Hagane, Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob SquarePants. Afterwards, everyone got back inside the Central Command and continued their journey.

In Chapter 5, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Gingka Hagane, Indigo Zap, Jimmy Neutron, Juniper Lee, Little Joey, SpongeBob SquarePants and Tsunayoshi Sawada, are traversing the skies of the Junkyard Planet while inside the Central Command and arrives at the Cardboard Tower. With the exception of Jimmy, everyone got down from the starship and fought an army of robots while Marcus "The Kane" McGee made his way inside the tower.

In the Epilogue, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Ben Tennyson, Blonko Rook, Gingka Hagane, Indigo Zap, Jimmy Neutron, Juniper Lee, Little Joey, SpongeBob SquarePants and Tsunayoshi Sawada, are victorious against the Summoner, Lucas Lee and the army of robots. Afterwards, everyone are seen waiting for assistance to arrive in the Junkyard Planet.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Vividred Operation[]

In Chapter 1, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Gingka Hagane, are seen in the beach somewhere in the Izu Ooshima Island where Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Himawari Shinomiya, Kenjirou Isshiki, Mizuha Amagi, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa met up with them.

In Chapter 2, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Gingka Hagane, Himawari Shinomiya, Kenjirou Isshiki, Mizuha Amagi, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa, are seen gathered inside the NDF Headquarters where they had a conversation with Yuuri Shijou about the current situation and later witnessed Mizuha rejecting Eddy Skipper McGee. Later that night in the Isshiki residence, everyone are joined by Mashiro Isshiki and Momo Isshiki for dinner and had a rather wacky conversation.

In Chapter 3, Rex, alongside Danny Fenton and Gingka Hagane, are seen patrolling around a small lighthouse somewhere in the Izu Ooshima Island and later witnessed Rolf Yrmi fighting a shark. Later on, he, alongside everyone, are present in another beach while getting ready for their battle against the Alones and the Emotionless.

In Chapter 5, Rex took part in fighting the Alone and Karasu in the skies of Izu Ooshima Island, and they managed to destroy the Alone and sent Karasu packing. Later that night, he took part in a celebration party in the Isshiki Residence for their victory over Karasu and other stuffs.

In the Epilogue, Rex, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, Akane Isshiki, Aoi Futaba, Gingka Hagane, Himawari Shinomiya, Rei Kuroki and Wakaba Saegusa, arrives in the Training Camp in Neo-City.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Magical Movie Night[]

In Chapter 3, Rex is present inside the gymnasium of the Canterlot High School where witnessed the Rainbooms and the Shadowbolts teaming-up to create a music video.

In Chapter 7, Rex, alongside the rest of the Rainbooms, Duncan Nelson, Eddy Skipper McGee and Jake Long, are seen gathered in the food court of the Canterlot Mall where they witnessed Flash Sentry demonstrating his power and after that, Sunset Shimmer revealed that Princess Twilight Sparkle wants her to come to Equestria.

In Chapter 8, Rex, alongside the Rainbooms, Duncan Nelson, Eddy Skipper McGee and Jake Long, arrives in the theater of the Canterlot Mall where they met up with Juniper Montage, they then found themselves suck into the magical mirror and later found themselves trapped inside a white limbo-like void.

In Chapter 9, Rex, alongside the Rainbooms, Duncan Nelson, Eddy Skipper McGee and Jake Long, are still inside the magic mirror when Sunset Shimmer is brought to their presence and later witnessed the void cracking to their horror but were later brought back in the Canterlot Mall after Marcus "The Kane" McGee and Starlight Glimmer managed to convince Juniper Montage to make a change to herself. Afterwards, everyone has forgiven Juniper and shared a hearty laughter.

In the Epilogue, Rex, alongside the Rainbooms, Duncan Nelson, Eddy Skipper McGee, Jake Long, Juniper Montage, Marcus "The Kane McGee and Starlight Glimmer, are seen hanging out in the courtyard of the Canterlot High School when Sunset Shimmer received a message from Princess Twilight Sparkle that she allows Starlight to stay for a couple of days while Marcus revealed that Juniper is a Blessed.

The Multiverse Adventures While Riding On A Bus[]

History[]

In Chapter 4, Rex, alongside Juugo Yama and Reisen Udongein Inaba, arrives in a stream located between two forest where they came across Edd the Sockhead, Rolf the Son of Shepherd and Youji Itami, and everyone decided to travel together afterwards.

In Chapter 5, Rex, alongside Edd the Sockhead, Rolf the Son of Shepherd, Youji Itami, Juugo Yama and Reisen Udongein Inaba, met up with Ed the Lump, Eddy the Scammer, Kevin the Jock, Luz Noceda, Amity Blight, Undine Wells, Heartful Punch, the Goblin Slayer, Musashi the Brave Fencer, Tadakuni, Ryuuko Matoi and Ichigo Momomiya in an area filled with train cars. Afterwards, everyone had a discussion and agreed with Edd's idea of luring people to their location.

In Chapter 6, Rex, alongside everyone, witnessed Ed the Lump and Rolf the Son of Shepherd finished building a fort, much to their awe and disbelief. After taking shelter inside the fort, Rex, alongside Juugo Yama, Kevin the Jock and Youji Itami, took down the creatures coming towards their fort, he then witnessed Edd the Sockhead creating a gigantic holographic projection of himself while calling everyone to their fort.

In Chapter 8, Rex, alongside the rest, are seen gathered inside the fort when Naruto Uzumaki's group, Yuna's group, Yami Sukehiro and Mereoleona Vermillion arrives in the area and got inside the fort. After introducing themselves to each other, they witnessed the arrival of a large mysterious creature and everyone decided to flee by getting inside the multiverse-travelling bus and then escaping through a portal.

In Chapter 9, Rex, alongside everyone, are seen crammed inside the bus after escaping the dangerous world before proceeding to enter the backdoor of the bus which led them to the rather grand base operation in the Watchers' Realm, much to their awe. After meeting with Konata Izumi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, Kagami Hiiragi and Miyuki Takara, they all decided to get some rest.

In Chapter 10, Rex is present in a conference-like room inside the main base of the Multiverse Rescuers where Jason the Watcher explained to everyone the details about the next mission in the island of Elsaragozademontelban.

In Chapter 17, Rex, alongside Fate Testarossa Harlaown, Nanoha Takamachi, Rolf the Son of Shepherd and Yuna the Bloody Bear, found Ace Grit, Baron Leltoy, Mira Fermin, Emmy Altava and Professor Hershel Layton in an open area of an orange-colored forest somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban and after being informed about their current situation, the others agreed to come along with them. Later, on a curve path, they heard disturbing noises and went to investigate it, and upon arriving at an open area, they saw Fabia Sheen, Franky, Inspector Clamp Grosky, Link and Orihime Inoue being surrounded by a group of basketball jersey-wearing monkeys, and they decided to help them.

In Chapter 18, Rex, alongside Ace Grit, Baron Leltoy, Emmy Altava, Fate Testarossa Harlaown, Mira Fermin, Nanoha Takamachi, Professor Hershel Layton, Rolf the Son of Shepherd and Yuna the Bloody Bear, arrives in one part of an orange-colored forest somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban where they decided to aid Fabia Sheen, Franky, Inspector Clamp Grosky, Link and Orihime Inoue in fighting a group of basketball jersey-wearing monkeys and during the fight, Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit, Knuckles the Echidna, Miles "Tails" Prowers and Sonic the Hedgehog made their presence and aided everyone in fighting the creatures. After driving every creatures away, everyone introduced themselves to each other and when they heard a loud explosion, everyone decided to check it out.

In Chapter 19, Rex, alongside Ace Grit, Amy Rose, Baron Leltoy, Cream the Rabbit, Emmy Altava, Fabia Sheen, Fate Testarossa Harlaown, Franky, Inspector Clamp Grosky, Knuckles the Echidna, Link, Miles "Tails" Prowers, Mira Fermin, Nanoha Takamachi, Orihime Inoue, Professor Hershel Layton, Rolf the Son of Shepherd, Sonic the Hedgehog and Yuna the Bloody Bear, arrives in an open area of an orange-colored forest somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban where they saw Buggy the Clown & Dr. Ivo Robotnik and Constable Barton, Inspector Chelmey and Ren Krawler glaring at each other. Everyone then witnessed Rolf and Tails using the DeEvilizers towards Buggy & Robotnik and successfully extracted the evil out of them. After an explanation, everyone decided to head back to the bus.

Abilities[]

EVO Abilities - Like all living beings on Earth, Rex has nanites bonded to him on a molecular level. Having activated nanites makes him an EVO; however, unlike most EVOs, Rex has the ability to control his nanites at will, allowing him to generate various machinery from his body. He can also use his nanites to communicate with a variety of machines, as well as cure some EVOs of their mutations.

Technopathy - Rex is capable of using his nanites to interface with technology, allowing him to communicate with and control it.
EVO Curing - perhaps Rex's most important ability, Rex can extract the active nanites of other EVOs to cure them.
Enhanced Durability - Rex appears to have strength and durability that is beyond average humans. On numerous occasions he has survived situations well beyond the capacity of normal humans, like being thrown through a concrete wall, being smashed through houses and buildings, tanking explosions and much more.
Healing Factor - When Rex was mortally wounded in an industrial accident, the nanites he was injected with completely healed him.

Machine Manifestation - Rex can shape his nanites into a variety of machinery. He uses these for offense, defense, and transportation. The weapons he forms out of his body can be destroyed, but he usually can reform them quickly afterward. Also, if Rex is exhausted, it takes more focus to maintain his weapons; otherwise they instantly disassemble.

Smack Hands - the smack hands are massive orange gauntlets that Rex can transform either arm into (preferably both) to take down larger EVOs. The smack hands give him incredible strength, allowing him to break through obstacles or lift heavy objects.
Combat Drill - in addition to the smack hand's original assets, the drill mode allows the smack hands to function as high-powered drills and add additional power behind his strikes.
Boogie Pack - the boogie pack is a jet pack with a pair of wide orange turbine wings. Rex is capable of using it to fly at high speeds; it also gives him a high level of agility. Rex used the boogie pack to travel over 100 miles in only a few minutes.
Slam Cannon - the slam cannon is a large orange projectile cannon that Rex can transform either arm into. Similar to a rocket launcher, it is positioned to rest on his shoulder. However, it does not produce its own ammo; instead, a maw on the back end of the slam cannon can extend into the ground and reload solid material for ammunition.
Rex Ride - the Rex Ride is an orange hover motorbike that Rex can form out of his lower legs. The vehicle can drive over any terrain and can go over 200 mph. Despite lacking wheels, the Rex ride is capable of driving up vertical loops and curves.
Punk Busters - the punk busters are a pair of massive orange super boots with retractable spikes on the soles. They allow Rex to jump hundreds of feet into the air or jump across ten square blocks. He can also use the punk busters to repel powerful EVO enemies or kick through thick metal.
Big Fat Sword - the big fat sword (also known as the B.F.S.) is a massive orange sword that Rex can transform either arm into. It is one of Rex's most lethal machines. Although it is used offensively to easily cleave through objects, it is can be used to deflect attacks.
Battle Saw - Using a lever on the side of his big fat sword, the top half of the sword will split apart and begin to rotate at a high velocity.

Trivia[]

Rex is the first character from Generator Rex to be introduced in the AWA fics.

Rex means "King" in Latin. His last name, Salazar, translated from Old Spanish means "old hall" - from the words "sala" which means "hall" and "zahar" meaning "old".

Rex has at least a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish and Chinese. He tends to interlard his speech with Spanish wording.

Since Rex does not remember his true birthday, Providence had his "birthday" scheduled on the day he joined Providence. Ironically, Rex was conscripted to Providence on Six's birthday, causing the two to share the same birthday.

In the XP4 fics, Rex once shared a room with Marcus and Eddy. After the renovations, he is now roommates with Jake Long, Danny Fenton and Randy Cunningham.
In the XP4 fics, according to Eddy, Rex had a girlfriend outside the Heroes Coalition.
