Panne is a character from the Fire Emblem Awakening games.

A nationless shapeshifter and the last of the taguel. While cool and sensible by nature, she shows little interest in finding a partner and remedying the fate of her race.

In the AWA fics, Panne is a student at the AWA Academy.

In the XP4 fics, Panne debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Awakening.

Appearance[]

Panne has a dark shoulder-length hair tied in braids with lops ears on top, and has red eyes with a few facial markings. She wears a dark-furred collar, a purple skimpy body armor, dark-furred armbands, black underwear with a string pouch wrapped around her waist, and purple thigh-high shin guards.

Personality[]

Panne is a cool woman with a strong sense of duty and pride for her people. Panne distrusts humans for the genocide of her people, leaving her as the last Taguel. As such, she refers to any human who has not earned her respect as "man-spawn".

Akin to rabbits, she enjoys carrots, though she's very picky about her food and loathes potatoes in particular. However, during her support conversation with Robin, they note that Taguel taste buds may be different than a human's (or may not work at all) when Panne appears to be indifferent to the carrot stew they made earlier that tasted like "yesterday's dishwater". Due to her large ears, she has a very acute sense of hearing and can even tell if someone is nervous from their heartbeats. Because Panne is not human, she exhibits extraordinary displays of athletic ability.

Panne is somewhat of a "wild" person as she never grew up with human customs. Because of this, she is clueless to society's norms and may come off as boorish such as in her support with Stahl, as while the two were gathering fruit, an accident occurs and Panne proceeds to clean Stahl's face by licking it, causing him to recoil. She is the fastest eater in the army. Her birthday is November 18.

XP4 Fanfics[]

Panne is a member of the Heroes Coalitions as a Solo Hero. She also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Awakening[]

In Chapter 3, Panne, alongside the Universal Guardians, Sully, Stahl and Gaius, are seen walking around the large field somewhere in Ylisstol when they came across a group of Zealots and engaged in a battle with them. They managed to overpower them causing the red & blue colored simulation troopers to retreat. Confirming that Dr. Dolan Danger is in this world, they decided to head back to warn the others.

In Chapter 4, Panne is seen having a conversation with Maka Albarn, Hinata Hyuuga, Korra, Stahl, Frederick, Maribelle and Kellam about the Unification Ceremony at the garrison before taking notice Dan Kusou, Soul Eater Evans and Ash Ketchum searching for the Blessed like idiots.

In Chapter 7, Panne, alongside Sakura Haruno, Sakura Shinguji, Ichiro Ogami, Hinata Hyuuga, Maribelle, Stahl and Frederick having a conversation about the Unification Ceremony at the garrison.

In Chapter 10, Panne, alongside Stahl, reunited with their son, Yarne, in the garrison.

In Chapter 11, Panne is at the garrison when they heard a noise, they ran to the corridors to see Ryuuko Matoi and Ricken chasing a strange hooded figure. Everyone went after the figure and led them to a large grassy fields, and reveals itself as a Pokemon known as Hitmonlee. The Pokemon then revealed that he stole an ancient alien artifact called the Ara-Ka Cube inside the castle. Everyone watches in horror as Hitmonlee uses the alien artifact to summon a zombified version of Emmeryn and Phila, much to everyone's disgust. Hitmonlee then summoned a large number of Emotionless, forcing Panne and everyone to fight. Panne then witnessed Donnel activating his Gift.

In Chapter 12 & Epilogue, Panne, alongside everyone, witnessed Donnel activating his Gift turning both Emmeryn and Phila back to life. After defeating the remaining Emotionless, forcing Hitmonlee to flee, life in Ylisstol went back to normal.

Abilities[]

Panne is a unique character, introducing the Taguel class of shapeshifting units to the Fire Emblem series. As a Taguel, she boasts excellent Strength, Speed and Skill growths, alongside a guaranteed HP boost with every level-up. Her Luck and Resistance growths are, on the contrary, fairly average, while her Defence is solid. Panne joins with one Beaststone in her inventory, one that needs to last until the next Beaststone can be obtained after defeating Mustafa. After the completion of Chapter 12, Panne will have an unlimited supply to buy Beaststones.

Panne possesses the Even Rhythm skill, which will cause her Accuracy and Avoid to go up a bit on even turns. Once reaches Level 15, she gains the Beastbane skill, allowing her to function as an effective horse killer.

Overall, Panne is a good frontline unit, with superb growths across the board, alongside decent defenses as long as she has a Beaststone on hand. She does have flaws, however, including her lack of 2-range weapons as a Taguel. Furthermore, Panne will always need to be careful around Beast Killer-wielding units, as she retains her beast unit status outside of her Taguel class. It is recommended to reclass Panne as much as possible to build up her skill pool before reverting her into a Taguel, allowing her to reap the benefits of her acquired skills to further improve her battle prowess.

Trivia[]

  • Panne says in a support conversation with Robin that far away, there are Taguels that are able to transform into cats and birds, similar to the Laguz of the Tellius series.
  • In her support with Ricken, she continues the Tellius references by saying she had met wolf and lion taguel a long time ago, much like the Lion and Wolf Laguz.
    • If she engages battle with Sothe in the Champions of Yore DLC, he mistakes her for a Laguz.
  • Panne says in supports with Yarne that she never knew her mother, nor met any other taguel. However in Panne's supports with Ricken, it's stated that Panne was raised by her mother alongside other taguel. This is seemingly an inconsistency.
  • Panne shares her Japanese voice actress, Yuki Masuda, with Ricken.
  • Panne has a special battle stance whenever she is in a Thief-related class. Instead of holding the sword in reverse-grip behind her back, Panne holds her sword forward, in front of her. This battle stance is also similar to the one she uses as an unarmed Taguel.
  • "Coney," a slur against Taguels mentioned by Panne, is an archaic English term for a rabbit derived through the Latin word for rabbits, "cuniculus".
  • Panne's name was probably changed in translations because "Panne" means "break-down" or "malfunction" in German and French.
  • As seen in her support conversation with Cordelia, Panne can speak to animals. It is unknown whether or not this is an ability that all taguel possess or if it is unique to Panne.
