Lily Hoshikawa is one of the main characters from the Zombieland Saga anime.

A legendary child actress who took primetime networks by storm with her breakout period piece performance. Lily's performance skills made her one the faces of television at the young age of twelve, and her cute appeal garnered a strong fanbase. After a while though, the stress of her work caught up to her, and she died as her heart gave out.

She's sweet and innocent most of the time, and revels in the opportunity of being forever young and cute now that she can never age. Her industry experience gives her a lot of flexability working with a group of idols, and her charm makes her a strong source of morale.

As revealed in season 1, Lily is transfeminine, having been assigned male at birth under the name "Masao Go".

In the XP4 fics, Lily is part of the Heroes Coalitions as a trainee. She also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.

In the AWA fics, Lily is a student at the AWA Academy.

Appearance

As a human, Lily has two bright blue pigtails with dark blue bows. She also has one large orange star and other stars in the middle part of her head. She has orange-yellow eyes and pale skin. She wears a green school uniform with a dark blue bow and a white skirt. She is average height for a 12-year-old, but much shorter than the rest of Franchouchou. On her feet, Lily wears brown shoes with white socks.

As a zombie, Lily has her heart sticking outside of her body and like the other zombies, greyish-blue skin and red eyes.

In Episode 8, Lily has a strong resemblance to her late mother.

Personality

Lily is often seen with a smile and she is shown to be quite playful as well due to her young age. She has also demonstrated a professional aspect from her experiences before her death.

Lily does not like nicknames. She forcefully emphasizes her name when being called "Squirt" by Saki Nikaidō; especially early on in their relationship.

Trivia

• Lily was only 12 years old when she died in 2011.
• Lily is a feminine given name directly derived from Lily the flower. The name is derived from the flower, whose meaning is "pure", "passion" and "rebirth".
• Hoshikawa means "Star river/creek", and is possibly to pay homage to the stars she has in her hair and her attire (idol ribbon and in episode 8 flashback).
  • Lily is often associated with space, and especially stars. For starters, her surname literally means “star river”, and the star motif further features heavily in her design - much of her casual outfits feature starry, uchuu kei-inspired designs, and even her signature headgear features a collection of star shapes.
• Masao is a masculine Japanese name, meaning "righteous man".
• Lily is the only one out of the other zombie girls with an exposed organ, that is her heart. Her exposed and often rapid beating heart represents her cause of death, that is mental shock, which caused her demise by heart attack/cardiac arrest.
• Her profile states she doesn't like mozuku and hijiki, which are both seaweed foods. Episode 8 suggests this is because she thought she had leftover seaweed on her face before realizing it was hair.
