John Price

Captain John Price is the central protagonist of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare games.

The humorless, straightforward and unflappable leader of the SAS units.

Previously Lieutenant Price, he was involved with the assassination attempt on Imran Zakhaev in Pripyat in 1996, alongside Captain MacMillan. Present day, he leads the primary investigation into the actions of OpFor and the Ultranationalists party, eventually leading to Zakhaev. He suffers severe injuries at the climax of the first game.

Between Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, he recovers and joins Task Force 141 around the same time as Soap. In Operation Kingfish in 2013, he was captured in an attempt to capture/kill Vladimir Makarov, and spends three years being tortured in a gulag.

Initially missing in Modern Warfare 2 due to his capture, he was eventually rescued and rejoins Task Force 141. He spends the rest of the two games trying to track down Vladimir Makarov as he steps up his efforts to conquer the world.

In the XP4 fics, John debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Mission Chronicles.

In the AWA fics, John is a student at the AWA Academy.

Appearance[]

John is an elderly man has blue eyes and has a dark-brown hair, and a thick facial hair. He wears dark-green military jacket over a white shirt with a pocket straps all over his body, khaki pants, black boots, black gloves and a beret.

In Chapter 5, John took part on a mission in an abandoned city somewhere in PC Kingdom to exterminate a number of creatures called the Glitches. After eliminating the creatures, John and his team set up a camp for the rest of the night while having a conversation about the 'Cunning Bastard'.

In Chapter 6, John is present at the 31st Annual Gamesphere Legacy Awards.

In Chapter 7, John is seen attending a festival somewhere in the PC Kingdom.

In Chapter 9, John is seen having a conversation with Samus Aran and Wayne Holden inside a police station somewhere in the PC Kingdom.

Despite his age, John is extremely good with guns and is an effective combat pragmatist. His list of weapons and equipment includes a M4A1, M1911, M21, USP .45, Barrett .50cal, AK-47, M14 EBR, AUG HBAR, SCAR-H, Intervention, ACR, Desert Eagle, PKP Pecheneg, MP5, RSASS, P226, Frag Grenade, Flashbang, Claymore, C4, Knife and a Gas Mask

Trivia[]

  • When Kamarov, Soap, Price, and Gaz are sniping from the bridge in Blackout, if the player neutralizes multiple enemies with one shot, Price will say something like, "Nice shot. MacMillan would've been proud." or "MacMillan would be impressed."
  • His serial number at the end of Endgame is 9051210.
  • He knows Russian and Arabic.
  • His favorite brand of cigars are Villa Clara's.
  • In the Redemption Single Player trailer of Modern Warfare 3, at the part where Price was pulling the UGV out of the crate, he was wearing the TF141 uniform he wore on Endgame. However, in the actual gameplay, he wears an olive drab uniform without the TF141 patches.
  • In the Dew XP promotion, the Combat Card of Price states that his main weapons of choice are the CM901and the MSR, despite never using them in-game.
  • His name appears in Dog Tags Accessory in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, with 01-11-1953 as the date of birth.
  • He also appears as a Supply Drop unlockable full Stryker rig. A Supply Drop unlockable gesture shows the player playing with a Price action figure where pushing the button on its back makes it say "Stay Frosty."
