Jirou Yoshidayama is a character from the School Rumble anime and manga.
A delinquent who moved to Yagami in hopes of becoming its number-one thug, only to run into the more fearsome Harima.
In the AWA fics, Jirou is a student at the AWA Academy.
Appearance
Jirou has a brushedup, broom-like orange hair and has dark eyes. He usually wears his high school uniform.
In the AWA fics, Jirou would sometimes ties up his hair on top of his head in the most ridiculous fashion. He then would wear a gray open hoodie jacket over a black tank top, tiger-striped baggy shorts and white sneakers.
Personality
Jirou is the delinquent wannabe who dreams of ruling the school, only to see his best laid plans foiled by the fact that there are students much stronger than he is, such as Harima. He has feelings for Eri, but later turns to Tae Anegasaki, the school's infirmary nurse.
In the AWA fics, Jirou's character was heavily tweaked. Jirou is loud and hammy, and has an unstoppable motor mouth.
Abilities
In the AWA fics, Jirou straddles in the line as a boisterous weakling. Jirou is not strong, per se - Big Taka is the muscle of the team and Jirou is well aware of it - but he can take a hit surprisingly well for a smaller guy. The "boisterous" part, however, is a constant - the guy consistently looks and acts like he's been mainlining energy drinks before coming out into public view.
Jirou's role in the pairing was basically to get his ass kicked for long enough to build momentum for a hot tag for Big Taka to come in and destroy everybody, then hit their Fastball Special Finishing Move for Jirou to get the final attack. It worked because of the size dynamic (Jirou's slightly below average build compared to Big Taka's basketball player-like frame), and because Jirou's mostly billed as a damage tank that can absorb a lot of punishment for his size and keep going.
