Illyasviel von Einzbern, also known as Illya, is the main protagonist of Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA anime and manga.
An ordinary elementary school student in Fuyuki living peacefully with her family. One day, just before going to bed, a magic stick named Magical Ruby chose her as its master. Her job as a Magical Girl is to capture Class Cards.
In the XP4 fics, Illya debuted in XP4 Heroes Coalition - Kick-Off!.
In the AWA fics, Illya is a student at the AWA Academy.
Appearance[]
Illya has a back-length platinum blonde hair and has red eyes, and wears pink ribbons.
She has basically the same appearance as her Fate/stay night counterpart, even though here she is younger. Being originally an Einzbern homunculi, Illyasviel has crimson eyes and long white hair just like her mother, Irisviel. She wears many casual outfits but the more recognizable ones are her regular school uniform, summer school uniform and her pink Magical Girl outfit after contracting with Magical Ruby. While using Magical Sapphire, she wears a purple outfit, a little bit different from Miyu's.
In the Zwei Form where she wields both Magical Ruby and Magical Sapphire, her outfit changes to a purplish color with and she obtains cosmic-like wings. As a Card User she is able to install Class Cards and to obtain outfits and equipment of various Heroic Spirits. She only becomes able to do it by herself during her first fight with Beatrice Flowerchild.
When she installs the Saber Class Card, instead of summoning the King Arthur, Artoria Pendragon, she brings out the Princess Knight side of her.
Personality[]
Illya exhibits a cheerful and positive attitude; but unlike her counterpart, she is shy and easily flustered at the beginning. In her first fight, she is shown to be agile but rather cowardly. Also Illya is an ardent fan of anime much to Sella's disappointment. She secretly harbors feelings for her brother, Shirou, something that Ruby highlighted much to her embarrassment.
Illya also wants to protect everyone, especially her friends. It is shown as Illya proclaims that she will help Miyu and Her world, even though Julian stated that it is almost impossible.

Illya is a member of the Heroes Coalitions and is part of the Multiverse's Cutest Team. She also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Kick-Off![]
In Chapter 13, Illya, alongside her team, the Multiverse's Cutest Team, made their presence in front of a group of Battle Creek Zealots at a temple-like fortress in a snowy mountain somewhere in Neo-Earth. The two sides clashes but the team overpowers the Zealots, causing the red & blue armored men to flee. After that, Illya and the others were ordered to remain in standby which they complied.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Welcome to Herowood[]
In Chapter 7, Illya is amongst those seen on the dancefloor inside the Bruno's Bar in Herowood where she witnessed the performances of Koito Minase & Sayaka Maizono, Franchouchou and Muse on stage, and later found themselves drenched in water when Natsu Dragneel accidentally activated the sprinklers by breathing out some flames.
In Chapter 10, Illya is seen inside a cafe somewhere in a mall called Multiverse's Crossroad in Herowood.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]
In Chapter 44, Illya, alongside the rest of the Multiverse's Cutest Team, welcomes Meguru Amatsuki and Sumire Kisaragi for becoming an official member of the team.

In Chapter 3, Illyasviel, alongside the rest of the Multiverse's Cutest Team, is mentioned as a whole by Ryuuko Matoi.

In Chapter 20, Illyasviel, alongside the rest of the Multiverse's Cutest Team, are seen in a warehouse when Sarina Shizukume made her presence and asked for their help.
Abilities[]
As a Lesser Grail, Illya possesses unnaturally high magical output, though it is greatly reduced after Chloe was created. To compensate the loss in output, she created a technique called Schneiden, a thin blade of magical energy with high cutting power and low cost. Illya was also able to learn how to fly, a difficult technique, without effort, because she believes that "all magical girls can fly".
While she wields the Kaleidostick, Magical Ruby, she is granted A~Rank Magical Barrier, Physical Protection, Accelerated Healing and Increased strength.
Trivia[]
- In Fate/stay night, Illya is a Cute and Psycho Evil Albino. This Illya? Let's just say that she's a Born Lucky Heroic Albino, a Nice Girl, and a Magical Girl.
- Aside from being much more heroic, she also possesses a lot of quirks and character traits the original incarnation of Illya never had. This turns out to be a plot point in 2wei, as its revealed that her current personality was a result of Irisviel sealing her original memories as a grail conduit when she (Illya) was only 8 months old. The suppressed original personality eventually emerges using the Archer class card as a conduit, and later becomes known as Chloe von Einzbern.
- While the Illya in Fate/stay night is actually an 18 year-old woman who resembles a 10 year-old girl, she is genuinely a 10 year-old girl in this universe.
- While Illya is an important character in Fate/stay night, this series takes things a step further by elevating her to becoming The Protagonist, and most of the series' focus is on her and her activities as a Magical Girl.
