Hikari Yagami is one of the main characters from the original Digimon anime and manga.
Taichi's younger sister, and the Eighth Child, not that anyone knows it at first. Very kind and innocent, but also often wise beyond her years. She has the Crest of Light, which is only fitting.
In Digimon Adventure 02, even though she has grown up, Hikari remains sweet and gentle, having tempered her innocence with wisdom. However, she still has issues that come back to haunt her, usually when she least expects it.
In the XP4 fics, Hikari debuted in XP4 Heroes Coalition - Kick-Off!.
In the AWA fics, Hikari debuted in the All World Alliance Stories. She is a student at the AWA Academy and is part of Class 9.
Appearance[]
Hikari has a short brown hair and has brown eyes. She wears a sleeveless white and pink turtlenecked shirt, pink fingerless opera gloves with an oval cut from the top of the palms, yellow shorts with a brown belt, white stockings, and pink and gray boots with black soles.
Personality[]
Kari is kind and sweet by nature, always looking for the best in people, and avoids fighting them whenever possible. Still, she can be serious, especially in drastic situations. As she grows older, Kari is more outgoing and has a playful and whimsical personality, but remains a sensible and grounded person. She tends to consider her own safety as secondary to the safety of others, and thus has tendency to hold any forms of worry or trouble to herself, not wanting to trouble anyone, showing her self-sacrificing nature. Her relationship with Yolei allows Kari to be more expressive, true to her heart, and overcomes the power of Darkness as her friends are always there for her. As a young child, she is prone to illness, but grows out of it.
Kari is shown to have a unique connection to light and darkness, which seems to be related to her associated trait of Light. She is empowered by the powers of light on one hand, but very susceptible to the powers of darkness on the other, leading her to be empowered by light and weakened by overwhelming darkness. Her stronger willpower after forming friendship with Yolei allows her to overcome this negative aspect.
Kari's older brother, Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, is the leader of the DigiDestined. Kari is very close to Tai and hero-worships him for his kindness and strength well into adolescence. Tai and Kari used to share a room, but sometime between Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, Tai has moved to another room.

Hikari is a member of the Heroes Coalitions and is part of the Multiverse's Cutest Team as it's second-in-command. She also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Kick-Off![]
In Chapter 13, Hikari, alongside her team, the Multiverse's Cutest Team, made their presence in front of a group of Battle Creek Zealots at a temple-like fortress in a snowy mountain somewhere in Neo-Earth. The two sides clashes but the team overpowers the Zealots, causing the red & blue armored men to flee. After that, Hikari and the others were ordered to remain in standby which they complied.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]
In Chapter 33, Hikari, alongside Amu Hinamori, are seen walking out of a room somewhere in the Vanguard Academy. Later on, she was present when Danny Antonucci made an announcement that joining a club is now mandatory and is amongst those who went into panic when it was added that those who haven't joined a club by the end of the week will become a member of the lunch committee.
In Chapter 44, Hikari, alongside the rest of the Multiverse's Cutest Team, welcomes Meguru Amatsuki and Sumire Kisaragi for becoming an official member of the team.

History[]
In Chapter 15, Hikari, alongside Nami, Rukia Kuchiki, Runo Misaki and Yumi Ishiyama, are seen being led by Kevin the Jock, Goblin Slayer, Musashi the Brave Fencer and Youji Itami on a path of a red-colored forest somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban when they came across a group of greaser-dressed monkeys and everyone responded by getting themselves ready for a fight.
In Chapter 16, Hikari, alongside Runo Misaki and Yumi Ishiyama took to hiding while watching Goblin Slayer, Kevin the Jock, Musashi the Brave Fencer, Nami, Rukia Kuchiki and Youji Itami fighting and defeating a group of greaser-monkeys before regrouping with them. After leaving the red-colored forest, they arrived at a large plain where they met up with Alice Gehabich, Ken Ichijouji, Mereoleona Vermillion, Robin Nico, William Dunbar, Yami Sukehiro and Yasutora "Chad" Sado by the bus, and found herself reunited with Ken. When a number of greaser-monkeys arrives, Hikari took flight inside the bus.
In Chapter 20, Hikari is mentioned to have reunited with Daisuke "Davis" Motomiya, Iori "Cody" Hida, Ken Ichijouji, Miyako "Yolei" Inoue and Takeru "T.K." Takaishi.
