Lynette Bishop, known as Lynne, is one of the main characters of the Strike Witches anime and light novels.
Lynne is a very personable if a bit shaky, sniper from Britannia. Lynette is the middle child of eight siblings and was sometimes overlooked. Because of this, she's domestic and painfully shy. She joined the Strike Witches shortly before Yoshika to help protect her homeland. Lynette is assigned to be Yoshika's roommate, where the two quickly become friends. Her striker unit is based on the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX and she lugs around a Boys Anti-Tank Rifle in battle. Her sister is named Wilma Bishop.
In the AWA fics, Lynette is a student at the AWA Academy and is part of Class 10.
In the XP4 fics, Lynette debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Strike Witches.
Appearance[]
Lynne is a young girl with a big bust. She has a long, light-brown hair tied in a single braid by a black ribbon, and has light-blue eyes. She wears a black uniform jacket over a light-brown sweater vest, white dress shirt and green necktie, green & red thigh-high socks and black boots.
Personality[]
The middle child of eight siblings, Lynette was sometimes overlooked and developed very domestic and practical habits from helping to take care of them. Because of this, she's very domestic and painfully shy. Plagued by occasional clumsiness and sometimes overlooked, she nevertheless strives to do her best. She's a kind, gentle and obedient girl who still seems a bit helpless at times and finds no joy in fighting, but she joined up recently to protect her homeland when she wanted to be of use to everyone. However, she's strong-willed, obstinate and very reliable.
Apologizing seems to be her first knee-jerk reflex. Also, every time the squadron chips in to help prepare for a difficult mission, her suggestion is tea. She's very good at brewing tea, so she's in charge of tea time. She is also good in cooking, especially candies and sweets.
After she meets Sergeant Miyafuji, the two eventually become best friends. Also, during the Gallia reconstruction, Lynne becomes friends with Flying Officer Clostermann. Her dream had been become a good wife, but her dream change.
XP4 Fanfics[]
Lynette is part of the Heroes Coalitions as a Solo Hero. She also attends the Vanguard Academy as a student.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Strike Witches[]
In Chapter 3, Lynette, alongside her fellow witches of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, happily reunited with Yoshika Miyafuji and later had a conversation with her alongside Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith. Suddenly, everyone heard an alarm which signals a Neuroi attack, they quickly sprung into action.
In Chapter 4, Lynette, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, took part of taking on a Neuroi and they managed to destroy it, they then later witnessed Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith taking down another Neuroi, much to their awe.
In Chapter 5, Lynette, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen having a conversation inside the dining area of the main base when Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke entered the room and told them that a ship filled with wounded crew members arrived at the docks. Upon arriving at the docks, she is greeted by the sight of a large number of wounded crew members, much to her horror. She then noticed Malvina Rasputin's arrival and later witnessed Malvina using her Gift to heal every wounded crew members in a vast scale, she then discovered that Malvina is a Blessed.
In Chapter 6, Lynette, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, Rex Salazar and Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, are seen at the docks of the main base of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing where Malvina Rasputin shared to them about her past. After Double D offered Malvina membership for the Heroes Coalitions to which she accepted, Alla Yuliya made her presence and tried to take her back home but Malvina refused due to her desires to become a better to which Alla cried in tears of joy and decided to follow her mistress. They were later shock when Alla presented to Malvina the latter's gigantous share of wealth.
In Chapter 7, Lynette took part in-guiding the civilians away in a nearby town when the Emotionless attacked the place and later then witnessed the arrival of the remaining members of the New Age Avengers.
In Chapter 8, Lynette, alongside everyone, witnessed the arrival of the Emotionless-Neuroi and after recovering from the shock, she, alongside her fellow witches of 501st Joint Fighter Wing, met up with Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in the hangar and after getting themselves into their Strikers, they flew towards the ginormous enemy and witnessed Perrine H. Clostermann going off plan and found herself getting swatted by the Emotionless-Dragon whom landed safely on a boat. After disposing the arms of the Emotionless-Neuroi, they witnessed Marcus "The Kane" McGee destroying it with his Gasoline Drill Gazer, much to their awe.
In Chapter 9, Lynette, alongside everyone, witnessed Malvin Rasputin rejecting Eddy Skipper McGee with the latter falling into the water upon running off. She is present when Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith, Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mio Sakamoto and Perrine H. Clostermann made their presence and announced the successful alliance between the Heroes Coalitions & the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, and later witnessed Marcus "The Kane" McGee saving Eddy from drowning.
Abilities[]
Lynette serves as the squadron's sharpshooter and possesses the ability to control the flight of projectiles to a limited extent. It would also appear she can charge magical energy into the shots to increase their effectiveness. These powers Ballistic Stabilization and Grant Magic Power allow her to affect bullets and other objects thrown in flight. Classified in the Telekinesis lineage.
For some veterans's words, 'she has the makings to become a good Commander, with her ability to keep an eye on the whole situation from the rear, and has a good sense of grasping the whole picture'.
Lynette principally uses a Boys Anti-Armor Rifle Mk.I in combat, but switched the muzzle brake to one from a Mk.II, since it's easier to use.

- Her pilot archetype is unclear, but is likely one of the children of famed Canadian WWI pilot Billy Bishop, who is the pilot archetype for Minnie Bishop, Lynette's mother. Lynette also has an older sister, Wilma, who is also a Strike Witch, and likely based on Billy Bishop's son, Arthur.However,her striker unit code based from 610th RAF member,Ellis,John [Ranked as Flight Leutnant],which has DW-N code on his Spitfire mk1a during Battle of Britain.
