Mumbo, also known as The Amazing Mumbo or Mumbo Jumbo, is a character from the Teen Titans animated series.
A mad magician with real magical powers. Usually a nuisance, but can prove a real threat when properly motivated.
In the XP4 fics, Mumbo debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Teen Titans.
Appearance[]
Mumbo's uniform consists of a normal magician's clothing. He wears a black turtleneck tuxedo with a white chest pad and a yellow flower pinned to his chest. He also wears a top hat, gloves and a mask.
Personality[]
He acts a lot like a Silver Age version of the Joker, only focused on showmanship instead of comedy. Driven into madness, he has been causing havoc and creating crimes.

After Eddy talks him out from his crimes, Mumbo joins the Heroes Coalition. He is very loyal to Eddy and Panooki.

XP4 Heroes Coalition - Teen Titans[]
In Chapter 6, Mumbo is first seen committing a robbery somewhere in Jump City when Cyborg, Eddy Skipper McGee, Panooki Zarrya and Lunette Yaeger arrives and confronted. They then chased him around the city and evading and dodging their attacks at the same time. Later, Eddy confronted him alone and after a few talks, Mumbo decided to join them and turned his back on crimes.
In Chapter 7, Mumbo, alongside the Teen Titans, the New Age Avengers, The Hunting Team, Herald, Serra Deville and Panooki Zarrya were present inside the Titan Tower where Kid Flash and Jinx told them about the Toy Factory's plan on attacking the city. Mumbo is later present at the heroes assembly, getting themselves ready for the attack.
In Chapter 8, Mumbo took part in the battle against the Toy Factory in Jump City.
In Chapter 10, Mumbo is present when Marcus "The Kane" McGee defeated Andy the Ragdoll and then witnessing the Toy Factory retreating into a portal. He is later present at the Toy Factory's base where it's been decided to destroy the toy machine and the remaining toys be donated to charity.
In the epilogue, Mumbo officially joined the Heroes Coalitions.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]
In Chapter 72, Mumbo, alongside the Teen Titans, the New Age Avengers, The Hunting Team, Panooki Zarrya and Serra Deville, were briefly seen having a karaoke sessions at the living room inside the Titan Tower in Jump City.
In Chapter 78, Mumbo is present at the charity event in the central park of Neo-City and later witnessed the arrival of DES.
In Chapter 81, Mumbo, alongside the members of the New Age Avengers, are seen getting inside the Central Command before leaving the Training Camp for their next mission.
In Chapter 90, Mumbo is mentioned.
In Chapter 95, Mumbo, alongside a number of people, are seen inside the training area where Eddward "Double D, Edd" Marion Smith and Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke introduced the Mississippi Four to them and is later seen having a meal inside the cafeteria of the Training Camp.
In Chapter 106, Mumbo, alongside Panooki Zarrya, is mentioned that Eddy Skipper McGee is meeting up with them.
In Chapter 108, Mumbo, alongside Bow Hothoof and the rest of the New Age Avengers, are seen in the TechGarage of the Training Camp before departing to the St. Harmony Island.

In Chapter 115, Mumbo, alongside Eddy Skipper McGee and Panooki Zarrya, are seen training a new technique at a beachside somewhere in the St. Harmony Island where they witness a portal dropping Chitoge Kirisaki before them. After Chitoge woke and got weary of them, Mumbo and his companions managed to earn her trust while agreeing to meet up with the others.
In Chapter 122, Mumbo is present when Marcus "The Kane" McGee announced that he'll be renaming the New Age Avengers to Bullet Kingdom.
In Chapter 123, Mumbo, alongside the rest of the Bullet Kingdom, Chitoge Kirisaki, Kham, Kratos Aurion and Seishirou Tsugumi, are seen having lunch in the campsite somewhere in the St. Harmony Island when Bow Hothoof and Rainbow Dash made their presence, and decided to join them.
In Chapter 126, Mumbo, alongside the rest of the Bullet Kingdom, Chitoge Kirisaki, and Seishirou Tsugumi, are seen in an image presented by Luna Loud in her tablet.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - AKB0048[]
In Chapter 25, Mumbo is present in confronting the DES Soldiers in Neo-City.
In Chapter 29, Mumbo is amongst the thousands of AKB-fans gathered around the concert hall in a city somewhere Kasumigastar and later witnessed the return of Atsuko Katagiri and the rest of the missing idols, and had a great time watching the performances afterwards.
In Chapter 32, Mumbo took part of paying respects for Mace Wyndu's death by attending his funeral via burial at sea in Atamistar before witnessing the arrival of a fleet of Dimensional Defense Union ships whom paid their respects for Mace by gifting him with a Heroes' Tribute.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha[]
In Chapter 1, Mumbo, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers and Nodoka Takehara, are seen inside the Takehara Mansion where they witnessed Kenzo sneaking inside and when Kenzo left, Mumbo and the others are seen in the living area having a discussion in their search for the Nightmares.
In Chapter 3, Mumbo, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, met up with Nodoka Takehara, Marcus "The Kane" McGee, Eddy Skipper McGee, Rolf Yrmi and Taro Yamada at Nodoka's mansion and later met the members of the TSAB group. Later on, they are gathered around inside the living room where Nodoka revealed her tragic past, much to the TSAB group's shock and sorrow however Nodoka reassured everyone that she moved on.
In Chapter 4, Mumbo, alongside everyone, is present in the living area inside the Takehara Estates where Nodoka Takehara revealed the next location of the Nightmares, everyone then agreed to investigate it.
In Chapter 5, Mumbo is present in the living room of the Takehara Estate where it's revealed that the mastermind behind the assassination attempt on Nodoka Takehara is her aunt, Mayaka Takehara, much to everyone's shock.
In Chapter 6, Mumbo is present in the living area of the Takehara States where Aka Red told everyone about her tragic past and after convincing everyone to allow her to talk to Nodoka Takehara, they watched Marcus "The Kane" McGee led the redhead to the second floor. He was later heard laughing alongside everyone from the living area by Aka and Nodoka.
In Chapter 7, Mumbo is present in the living area of the Takehara Estate where everyone had a meeting about infiltrating the Takehara Corporation. Later that night, Mumbo took part of infiltrating the Takehara Corporation where they came across Flirtare, Squall Meusel and Arisu Nightmare and then chasing after them.
In Chapter 8, Mumbo, alongside the rest, is seen chasing after Arisu Nightmare whom led them inside a room filled of Nightmares and after Arisu told them her plans to unleash the creatures into the city of Uminari, she fled through and portal which left everyone to face the Nightmares.
In Chapter 10, Mumbo, alongside the rest, are seen fighting a large number of Nightmares.
In Chapter 11, Mumbo assisted in helping moving Nodoka Takehara's things out from the Takehara Estate and after that, he, alongside everyone, bid farewell to the members of the TSAB and afterwards, they all left Uminari City.
In the Epilogue, Mumbo, alongside the rest of the New Age Avengers, met up with Nodoka Takehara, Aka Red, President Mario Martinez, Major Richard Stronghold and Louie inside the Training Camp. Afterwards, Mumbo, alongside Nodoka, Aka and the rest of the New Age Avengers, decided to head towards Canterlot City to have fun.

Abilities[]
Mumbo is a powerful magician, whose magic comes from the hat and the wand, but the magic he can produce—mainly due to the nature of his paraphernalia and his state of mind—is limited to stage magic, conjuring, and comedic effects. These include (but are not limited to) conjuring masses of flowers and cards to attack or distract opponents, levitation, moving objects, transforming people and objects at will, enlarging his glove to catch is opponent, conjuring door traps, animating lifeless objects, and making objects disappear into his hat. His magic is highly versatile and often catches the Titans off guard, allowing him to overpower all five of the Titans sometimes. His hat contains its own pocket-dimension that is entirely under his control and made in his literal image, in which Mumbo's magic is much more powerful, as he was able to turn the Titans into animals (and Beast Boy into a lamp), nullify their powers, and stated he would make them disappear forever (erase them from existence).

- In the XP4 fics, Mumbo shares a room with Eddy, Panooki and Mandy Rosal.
- He has the same mask as Robin and Speedy.
- Despite his real age remaining a mystery.
- Mumbo bears a striking resemblance, and could have been inspired by, the Great HooDoo from the 70's television show Lidsville, as both are villainous magicians, both have a similar over-the-top voice, and both have an unnatural skin color (blue and green respectively). In addition, the episode Bunny Raven features the titans going into Mumbo's hat, much like the plot of Lidsville in which a boy named Mark falls into the Great HooDoo's hat and ends up in the titular town. The surreal nature of both is also a similarity. Tom Kenny also played Ellis, a parody of HooDoo, in the Mr. Show sketch "The Altered State of Drugachussetts".
- Mumbo was said to be a one-off character created for the show, but a positive fan reaction influenced further appearances.
