Chie Satonaka is one of the main characters from the Persona 4 anime and games.
Chie is another second-year student at Yasogami High. An upbeat girl with an obsession with martial arts action films, she is generally friendly, cheerful and energetic but has a short temper, especially with Yosuke Hanamura. She's been friends with Yukiko Amagi since they were children.
In the XP4 fics, Chie debuted in the XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries.
In the AWA fics, Chie is a student at the AWA Academy.
Appearance[]
Chie has dyed light brown bowl-shaped hair and brown eyes. Chie wears a modified Yasogami High uniform with a light green, high collared athletic jacket adorned with several decorative pins (including a smiley face) and underneath her mini skirt she wears short black compression shorts. In summer, however, she is seen wearing the school's standard summer uniform, having wrapped her jacket around her hips.
Personality[]
Chie is energetic and outgoing, the "extrovert" compared to Yukiko being the "introvert." She has a bright and upbeat personality, often trying to cheer up the group by joking about the case. She can be somewhat short tempered, especially with Yosuke, and is slow to back down from a challenge.

Chie is a Solo Hero at the Heroes Coalitions and is a member of the Inaba Investigation Team. She also attends at Vanguard Academy as a student.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Neo-City Diaries[]
In Chapter 13, Chie, alongside the rest of the Inaba Investigation Group, were supposed to have a nice weekend when Dan Gotanda made his presence. After Dan explained to them about the Heroes Coalitions, they all decided to join. Later, the team arrives at the Neo-City and were awed at the sight of the Training Facility. Later Dan left to sort out a problem, they then met Precious Dazzle and befriended him. After Dan returned and told them that they'll be meeting the president of the Heroes Coalitions which they obliged.
In Chapter 16, Chie, alongside a few, are seen eating pizza in the mini kitchen at the Training Camp when Chris Pearson and Fabia Sheen joined them. Later, Elise Pearson arrives in the kitchen, she and the others decided to leave the mini kitchen, so Chris and Elise can have a private conversation. After that, Chie and the others came back to the kitchen where Elise announced that she's joining the Heroes Coalitions, she, alongside Chris Pearson, Venoct and Nyaruto Nyazumaki, then stopped Elise from killing Dan Mandel after the latter made an insulting comment to the former.
In Chapter 30, Chie is seen in a line towards a food counter inside the cafeteria of the Vanguard Academy.
In Chapter 38, Chie is amongst the many patrons in the AniManga Cafe.
In Chapter 60, Chie is seen in the courtyard of the Vanguard Academy.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Mission Chronicles[]
In Chapter 13, Chie, alongside Kanji Tatsumi and Terrence Ohno, are seen in the city of Musutafu for a recruitment task. They then witnessed Drake Gallantry taking out a thug and gave the crowd a rising speech to which earned him some cheers, and afterwards, they met up with Drake and agreed to have a conversation.
XP4 Heroes Coalition - Welcome to Herowood[]
In Chapter 8, Chie, alongside Bu-Ling Huang, are seen inside the dining area of their hotel in Herowood while having a conversation with Hanayo Koizumi and Maki Nishikino.

In Chapter 22, Chie, alongside Carla the Exceed, Lucy Heartfilia, Sai, Sakura Haruno and Wendy Marvell, are seen inside a cave of a remote valley located somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban where they are hiding from the Unicorn-Warriors when Fate Testarossa Harlaown, Heartful Punch, Nanoha Takamachi, Ryuuko Matoi and Undine Wells made their presence and announced their rescue attempts.
In Chapter 23, Chie, alongside Carla the Exceed, Lucy Heartfilia, Sai, Sakura Haruno and Wendy Marvell, are seen having a conversation with Fate Testarossa Harlaown, Heartful Punch, Nanoha Takamachi, Ryuuko Matoi and Undine Wells inside a cave of a remote valley located somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban and afterwards, everyone were about to leave when they heard noises outside the cave and upon leaving the underground cavern, they came across Gash Bell, Kanji Tatsumi, Kiyomaro Takamine, Takuya Kanbara and Yuu Narukami getting confronted by a group of speed-wearing unicorn warriors. Everyone then decided to help the boys in driving away the creatures and after introducing themselves to each other, they decided to head back to the bus.
In Chapter 25, Chie is mentioned to have returned to the bus in the deep and narrow valley between two canyons in a desert that is located somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban after witnessing Edd the Sockhead's gigantic holographic projection of himself.
In Chapter 28, Chie, alongside Amy Rose, Dark Pit, Ed the Lump and Sonic the Hedgehog, are seen taking on a group of Magmabugs in one part of the volcanic region somewhere in the island of Elsaragozademontelban.
Abilities[]
She seems to be skilled in martial arts. She uses her Persona, Tomoe, to get in close and KO her opponents with deadly kicks. She use greaves as a weapon and is self taught in Jeet Kune Do.
Trivia[]
- Chie resembles the Mexican paramedic doctor Maria Torres of Trauma Team, while Yukiko resembles Tomoe Tachibana.
- The license plate number on Chie's motorbike in Golden is 7-30, the same as her birthday.
